Mourn with Deep Grief for the Internationally Famous Electrochemist—Professor Martin Fleischmann
Martin Fleischmann, a famous Electrochemist, Professor of University of Southampton and President of the International Society of Electrochemistry (1973-74) passed away on 3rd August 2012. The Chinese Society of Electrochemistry (CSE) membership and the whole electrochemical community will miss him greatly.
Prof. Martin Fleischmann played an important role in the discovery of Surface Enhanced Raman Scattering effect (SERS) and developed the ultramicroelectrode. He was awarded the medal for electrochemistry and thermodynamics by the Royal Society of London (1979), received the Palladium Medal from the US Electrochemical Society (1985), and was elected to the Fellowship of the Royal Society (1986).
